Website advice
How to prepare content for a website project.
Good content preparation reduces delays, protects the budget and gives the design something real to organise.

Organise content around customer decisions.
Begin with the questions a customer needs answered: what you provide, who it suits, what is included, why they should trust the business and what they should do next.
Collect before the build
- Accurate services, prices and boundaries
- Approved logo, colours and brand assets
- Original photographs and project examples
- Authorised testimonials
- Business details, locations and contact information
- Required policies, disclaimers and compliance wording
Agree who is responsible.
The proposal should state whether WBYD is writing, editing or placing client-supplied content. It should also identify who approves facts, claims, images and legal or industry-specific wording.
Design cannot finish around content that has not been decided.
Content preparation questions
Do I need final copy before design begins?+
The core messages, page purpose and key facts should be known. Exact wording can be refined during an agreed content stage.
Can WBYD write the content?+
Content support can be included when defined in the quotation. The business remains responsible for approving factual accuracy and claims.
What if content is delayed?+
The project schedule may need to pause or move. Agreeing deadlines, owners and approval stages early reduces that risk.
